Yaupon Holly Black Tea
Yaupon Holly Black Tea
Yaupon Holly is an evergeeen native to the southern United States. It is the only native caffeinated plant to the U.S. and is often used to replace coffee and other teas.
Yaupon is a natural source of caffeine, full of antioxidants, theobromine, and several polyphenols like chlorogenic acids, which may help reduce inflammation, improve brain health, and protect against conditions like diabetes.
Unlike other teas, Yaupon has no tannins thus it is impossible to oversteep, meaning each tea bag can be used to brew several cups and still taste as good. Also, due to the lack of tannins, Yaupon is not bitter like other teas with the flavor being similar to Yerba Mate.
All of my Yaupon Holly tea is wild grown, hand picked, hand washed, roasted and packaged by me.
